MEET TAYLOR

Canadian born, Taylor Drury is a full time company member with the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. She joined the company at the beginning of the 2020/2021 Season.

Drury began her professional training at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School at age 14 and later completed her BFA in Dance at The Juilliard School. Following her formal studies, she joined the cast of Punchdrunk’s award winning immersive production Sleep No More in New York City. During this time, she worked as a freelance dancer and choreographer, collaborating with dance colleagues and filmmakers, and premiering her first evening length dance work, No Milk, at the Irondale Theater in Brooklyn, NY. He Venido, a short film and her directorial debut, was nominated for Best Dance Film at the Paris Art and Movie Awards in Spring of 2018. Drury moved to Germany in 2018 to pursue new opportunities overseas. After a few months exploring the freelance scene, she was offered a position with Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz In Munich where she spent one Season before her move to Wuppertal.

She has had the pleasure of performing works by Pina Bausch, Aszure Barton, Alan Lucien Øyen, William Forsythe and Nacho Duato among others.
